Meghan Lee CPA, MSA

I'm a lifetime resident of the Southern Tier, having grown up in Elmira and Big Flats. My grandma and my parents grew up here and all graduated from Corning Community College. A tradition I followed for my associates degree. I currently live in the Elmira-Corning area with my rabbit, Queen Latifa, and my brother.
I transferred and graduated from SUNY Geneseo with my Master's of Science in Accounting degree in 2016. I fell in love with taxation during school and was fortunate to find a tax job at DeJoy, Knauf & Blood, LLP in Rochester. After 1 1/2 years, I returned to the Southern Tier at the end of 2017 and started a tax position at Insero & Co. CPAs, LLP in Ithaca in January 2018. February 2018, I officially received my CPA license.
I left Insero in July 2023 to start this lovely business! Working for a firm is great, but being your own boss is even better. A dream I never thought I would see come to pass. I can say with certainty I will never regret this decision.
I strive for perfection and excellence. I do my best to keep up to date on current tax law changes. I also know my limitations. If I know I don't have the expertise to help you, I'm certain I know someone who can.
I specialize in real estate, rental, and farm taxation though my knowledge knows no bounds. I have extensive experience with business tax returns and Not-For-Profits. I haven't found an individual return yet that scares me with it's complexity. I have worked on individual returns with foreign ties in the past, enough so that I can identify foreign implications that generate additional reporting requirements or where a tax lawyer might be necessary. I am not well versed in trusts and estate 706 returns, though I can help with simple trust and estate income tax returns.
I want my clients to feel engaged with the process and services I offer. You need bookkeeping help? Sure, I could just do it for you. Same with preparing your taxes. But the highlight of my job is sharing my joy of accounting with my clients and empowering them. I want you to always feel like you can reach out to me for questions or concerns all throughout the year, not just at tax time.
